Kate has a passion for food, and dedication for reconnecting the kitchen with the land. She is Kangaroo Island’s most ’produce’ driven Chef.

After managing pubs and chefing at various locations around the world, she and her husband have established a gourmet food business - Kangaroo Island Source - on their working farm, situated on the picturesque Dudley Peninsula, Kangaroo Island.

Kate’s Kangaroo Island Source range of condiments includes curry pastes, meat rubs, chutneys & jams further complimenting the fantastic regional produce by using locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices. She also offers and gourmet catering service, with a range of menu options from picnic hampers to weddings, always dedicated to connecting visitors with the produce of local farmers and producers.

After establishing the successful Kangaroo Island Farmers Market at Penneshaw, providing inspiration, encouragement and mentoring to a growing group of regular stallholders, Kate and Jock opened their new gourmet farm-based kitchen, as a place where people can experience the simple pleasuresof gathering and cooking with produce as close to its source as possible.
