Kangaroo Island Farmers’ Market
From humble beginnings, the monthly Kangaroo Island Farmers’ Market in Penneshaw has become a reminder that Kangaroo Islanders have always been resourceful in living off the land they call home.
Farmers’ Markets have long been an outlet for communities to buy fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, dairy and handmade goods direct from farmers and producers.
The Kangaroo Island Farmers’ Market, an initiative of Good Food Kangaroo Island, is following in this tradition, bringing our farmers, home gardeners and Good Food Kangaroo Island members in direct and regular contact with customers. Dialogue about how foods are made or grown is now regular on our Island. We are reconnecting with our food again.
The Kangaroo Island Farmers’ Market is held on the first Sunday of every month, on Lloyd Collins Reserve in Penneshaw. Stalls open at 9.30am and the market run through until 1pm.
